As metaphors go, these are pretty good - or at least they captured my imagination. I came across this You Tube video of Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" (from Peer Gynt) in a blog post on trolling (in Swedish), and found the image apt even though it's only a still (so no moving pictures or video during the melody):
Clicking through the You Tube videos of this song to perhaps find a better musical video of Gynt's classic composition, I found this, which is still not much of a video but at least brings us into the electronic age, the age of webheads, online warfare, flame wars and all of that:
Then, I found this, which I thought is a rather good end to it all. This video really exposes trolls for what they are: skeletons, and fragile things at that. Much more scary at night time than in broad daylight and easy to dismantle...
Do pardon my lacking poetical skills at the moment, I can see some great blogging material here and can spin a good tale or two when I'm more awake, but right now I can really feel the weight of a long week and today's 12hr writing day and thought I'd just record these crude insights here for the time being.
